Best budget laptop that runs AutoCAD?

Posted on: February 3, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

For playing games and CAD software, a good processor and a dedicated graphics card. With that, the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is a good fit. For a gaming laptop, it has a decent battery life, while prioritizing good specifications. Additionally, the cooling is good.

The battery life is around 7 hours. OS is Windows 10 Home.

The i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card is a great fit for CAD and games, it is the strongest graphics card in your price range. The card is capable of running recent games at medium-high settings.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I need a laptop with good thermals, i5-8300h or higher, decent battery life, and a GTX 1050TI or higher.

Posted on: February 2, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

Is there any reason in specific why the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is not an option? It is definitely the winner when it comes to thermals, battery life, and overall gaming performance. Although it has an older processor, the i5 processor is still adequate for gaming, it runs cooler than the 8th generation H processors.

Looking for a durable laptop for less than $800 that I can also use for gaming.

Posted on: February 2, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

I think that the ideal laptop for your use is the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**. Although it is a gaming laptop, it still has rare qualities: a sturdy chassis and solid battery life. As expected, those features tend to be very rare in gaming laptops, however this laptop is able to achieve that in this price range.

The battery life is around 7 hours for light use which is decent for a gaming device. The OS is Windows 10 Home.

The i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card will be fine for those games, I think you can acheive 60 FPS at medium-high settings 1080p. That is decent, plus you have head room. The build quality is very solid for a gaming laptop, even rare in more expensive laptops.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Looking at the Hp Pavilion Laptop?

Posted on: February 2, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

As mentioned already, the HP Pavilion runs very hot and throttles and the build quality is a bit poor. The Acer Nitro 5 is a similar case, it will thermal throttle and the build quality is still not the best. The better option would have to be the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**. Good speciifcations for the price, solid build quality, and no thermal throttling. Great option for gaming and demanding programs.

Hi,

As mentioned, the HP Pavilion gaming laptop will suffer from thermal throttling and its build quality is filmsy. If you extend the budget, the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is a perfect alternative, it solves the two issues I mentioned. No thermal throttling issues plus a strong chassis.

The OS is Windows 10 Home, which is typical in this price range.

The GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and i5 processor will be those kinds of games on medium-high settings 1080p good FPS. It has an okay 1080p IPS 15.6″ display, which is still somewhat better than laptops with a TN display. The design is not as gamer as most laptops, however still present.

Hi,

All around, the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is likely the winner, except for portability. But it does not seem to be important for you, so the Inspiron 15 7567 excels. It has a good battery life around 7 hours for light use, strong GPU / CPU for gaming, plus sturdy build quality which is nice for long term use.

Hi,

To ensure you can get the performance you’re looking for, I think the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is good for you, it has good specifications and a strong build quality. It is built super strong, better than all gaming devices in your price range.

Sadly not a 2-in-1, but that is for the strong specifications this laptop provides. The OS is Windows 10 Home. The display is a 1080p 15.6″ display, which is expected in this price range.

The GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and i5 processor may be a bit overkill for those games and your tasks, but you will have lots of room for demanding titles in the future.

Hi,

Prioritizing battery life, the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is a good option for your. It has good specifications for gaming, while having a solid battery life around 7 hours. That is much higher than nearly all gaming laptops as a whole, very impressive.

The OS is Windows 10 Home. The display is a 1080p 15.6″ IPS display, sadly still lacking color gamut coverage.

The GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and i5 processor, it will be fine for World of Warcraft and other future demanding titles.

I would also advice against it because of the poor display and throttling issues. The FX504 is listed under ‘Low Quality TN Displays’ on the side bar. If you spend a bit more, the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is a good alternative. It has a stronger graphics card plus it does not thermal throttle at all.

Hi,

From my experience, the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** provides a great battery life while having a GTX 1050 Ti graphics card. I think you can get around 7 hours for light use when not gaming. The i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card will be capable of running modern games at medium-high settings with decent FPS. The keyboard is nice in my opinion, but nothing very special.

University student with ~$800 and unsure about specs

Posted on: January 28, 2019 by elvinelmo

Since you don’t mind the bulk (unlike most University students) you can get a laptop with power like the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** which has a very powerful GPU which will be more than capable of getting you much higher than your 40 fps target

* 256GB SSD,
* 8GB RAM,
* GTX 1050Ti,
* 15.6inch Full HD Display
* Core i5-7300HQ

Specs wise its pretty good 8 GB of RAM is adequate for most games and programs to run smoothly. Its CPU is an older gen but its still reliant today as it is pretty powerful and the GTX 1050Ti is good at this pricepoint.

If you plan to upgrade the laptop it is possible but you will need a few tools to do it properly but its nothing too hard. Its display is clean and bright and its colors have 61.4% coverage sRGB. Its not a loud laptop so you can use it in a quite room without disturbing any one while doing light tasks but if you to game to fans do make some noise which is expected. Its battery life is very good when doing regular tasks but you will only get an hour an d a half when gaming

Hi,

To give you more head room for CAD and games, I recommend the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, it has the best specifications for the price + a good cooling system for its components. That is why it is superior to laptops like the Nitro 5. Throttling is a big issue in gaming laptops, but this laptop does not have that issue.

The OS is Windows 10 Home.

The i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, you can run the kinds of games you’re looking to run just fine.

Sadly, no touchscreen display.

Hi,

I wouldn’t recommend the Inspiron 15 5577 model, especially when the 7567 is very close in price. So, if you’re okay using an external hard drive or adding one into the laptop yourself, I recommend the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** since it is the best gaming laptop within the preferred range. Has a strong graphics card and excellent cooling system, which is needed to run demanding games like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

The battery life is solid, around 7 hours for light general use.

The weight is sadly a bit heavier at 6.6lbs, that is expected for a well cooled gaming laptop.

The i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card will be capable of running games around 1080p medium-high settings with 60 FPS.

Let me know if you have any questions.

A relatively cheap laptop for schoolwork and gaming that can run GTA V and other games at relatively decent graphical settings.

Posted on: January 28, 2019 by elvinelmo

You have a few solid gaming laptops in your budget, firstly the **Dell G3 Gaming Laptop** is a solid option with an 8th gen processor which outshines the 7th gen HQ processor which will be good for CPU intensive tasks. It has a GTX 1050 graphics card is also pretty good and will be able to game well. GTA V will not be an issue either.

Alternatively the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** would also be a good choice. It has a more powerful GPU than the G3 but a weaker 7th gen HQ processor.

If you plan to run intensive programs outside of gaming the G3 is the better laptop but if you plan to mostly game the Inspiron 15 7567 is the better pick. Both laptops have pretty decent cooling and can be upgraded in the future. The G3 has a more professional look to it IMO

Hi,

In your price range, the best gaming laptop would likely be the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, it has the best graphics card plus a good cooling system for its components. That is pretty important for gaming, since many laptops struggle with heat and throttle, like the Nitro 5.

The OS is Windows 10 Home, which is typical for a gaming laptop.

With the GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and i5 processor, you can run games like GTA V at medium-high settings 1080p with 60 FPS. Newer games will be fine too around the same settings.

The device looks less like a gamer laptop than most other devices in this price range, however not completely rid of the gamer design.

Hi,

In this price range, you can get a decent gaming laptop with good battery life. The **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is my pick, it has a strong graphics card and a good cooling system to compliment it. Although only 8 GB RAM, this laptop has upgradable RAM and storage.

The battery life is around 7 hours for light general use. The OS is Windows 10 Home.

Witht he i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, you can run the kinds of games you plan on running and video editing software. However, photo editing will be sub par with the poor color gamut on this laptops display. You can find something more expensive, like the **Eluktronics Mech-15 G2 Pro**, which has a good display.

Laptop for Programming/Gaming/Music Production

Hi,

In this price range, I think a dedicated gaming device would be the best option. I recommend the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, it is my go to in this price range. It has the best specifications + a good cooling system which is essential for good gaming performance.

The OS is Windows 10 Home.

The display is a 1080p 15.6″ IPS display. When it comes to specs, it has an i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card. It will be able to handle programming software as well as games such as Rust. The build quality is decent considering the price range.

Laptop for Gaming from Dell?

Posted on: January 27, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

If you want a non-refurbished or used laptop, I recommend the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, it is just over budget and is typically regarded as the best gaming laptop around your price range. Currently, the Dell website does not sell this model any more since it is a bit older. But, it is available on Amazon.

The specifications, being the GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and i5 processor, are great for modern games that can run most recent games on medium-high settings. Additionally, the solid cooling system makes this laptop a good option for the price.

Need a new laptop

Posted on: January 26, 2019 by legos45

In that range, you can get a new laptop with a strong graphics card for gaming. I suggest the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, which I consider to be the best gaming laptop in your price range. It is mainly because it has a good cooling system, which is adequate for cooling its components. Many laptops lack a good cooling system, which forces the processor and GPU to slow down.

With the GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, you can run games like Overwatch on medium-high settings 1080p with good FPS. Additionally, this laptop includes an SSD. RAM and storage is upgradable in the future.

Let me know if you a question.

Looking for new laptop for college and light gaming, relatively cheap

Posted on: January 26, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

Two options for you: one that is closer to maximum budget, one that is cheaper in the ~$600 range. First is the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, it is the go to laptop in your price range. It has the best specifications for the price, while having a solid cooling system that can withstand the heat of the components. It is very important for a solid gaming experience. The i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card is a good combination for the games you plan on playing.

The **Acer Aspire E 15** is another option, it is cheaper and has a weaker GPU. So, you can run the games you listed, but on lower settings than the Dell Inspiron 15 7567.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Looking for the best laptop at my price points

Posted on: January 26, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

As everyone else has mentioned, I think it comes down to two options: first being the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, since it has the best specifications while having a solid battery life + decent build quality. Although a bit heavy, it is able to manage its thermals well so light gaming and programming shouldn’t be an issue. The keyboard is nice in my opinion, but it is a typical keyboard.

On the other hand, if you want more portability, the **Acer Swift 3** is a weaker alternative but it still will be able to run light games and will be a good option for long term use. The weight is much lighter at 3.8lbs, definitely portable and easily to use on the go.

Let me know if you have any questions to narrow your decision.

LF a laptop with SSD for quick boot-up and program use, and able to play some games. (600-800 dollar budget)

Posted on: January 25, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

I think a dedicated gaming laptop would be the best option in this price range, especially for games like Fallout 76. I recommend the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, it has the features you’re looking for. Also, its cooling system is decent which makes it a good gaming machine.

The screen is a 1080p 15.6″ IPS display, but has poor color gamut coverage.

The laptops’ i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti can run games like Fallout 76 on medium-high settings with good FPS.

This laptop includes an SSD so you will have fast boot times.

Hardware scrub here, which of these two laptops are the better deal, or are they both garbage?

Posted on: January 25, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

Both of those laptops are interesting options… but the HP Pavilion is known to have issues with throttling, while the GV62 has that issue plus a weak build quality. So, even with a weaker processor, I recommend the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, with superior cooling. Cooling is very important laptops for consistent performance.

The i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card is a good combination for recent games at medium-high settings at 1080p.

Broke compsci major wants to play MOBAs? (max 1000$, give me the least expensive option you can think of though?)

Posted on: January 25, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

If you’re okay in the ~$750 range, I suggest the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** since it has excellent specifications for its price and good cooling. That combination is essential for a smooth gaming performance, beating out laptops like the Nitro 5.

The i5 processor and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card will be great for the games you’re looking to play around high settings 1080p since they aren’t too demanding.

The build quality is fairly solid and durable for the price.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Laptop that can run Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 so I can game with my son while on work trips

Posted on: January 23, 2019 by legos45

Hi,

The jump from the MX150 graphics card to GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1060 is pretty major. For those games, I think you would be reaching diminishing returns past a GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, you wouldn’t benefit as much eventually since you would already get good FPS at high settings. So, if you’re okay with a heavier laptop, the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is likely the way to go. Solid specifications for the price and a good cooling system.

The battery life is solid on this laptop, around 7 hours for light general use. OS is Windows 10 Home.

With the GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and i5 processor, you can run general use programs and all of the games you plan on running. 8 GB RAM should be okay, but you can always upgrade as needed. This laptop has several ports for externals.

Is the Acer Nitro 5 good for casual gaming and doing schoolwork?

Posted on: January 18, 2019 by realducksquack

The Acer nitro 5 is well price for it’s specs. Another alternative that you might want to take a look is the -> Dell Inspiron 15. Specs are more or less the same. What I like is the built quality and thermals. Fans can get a bit loud when gaming but it still manages to maintain an acceptable temperature. Keyboard is pretty decent and there is a slight separation between the number pads and main keys which is a nice touch. Speakers are also quite good. At the end of the day, if you still like the design of the Nitro 5, go ahead and get it. Enjoy!

Hi,

Like the others have mentioned, the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** is a much better alternative. Better cooling than the Nitro 5 and has better durability, it is considerably premium for a gaming device.

The nitro 5 is a decent option but it gets hot so for the same specs and price I would recommend the Dell Inspiron 15 7567 it has a much better cooling system and build quality .

Looking to replace old laptop with cheap "gaming" laptop $500-1000

Posted on: November 21, 2018 by legos45

Hi,

You can go in between the GTX 1050 and 1060 and get the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** which has a GTX 1050 Ti. This laptop has both good gaming performance and provides a good battery life. It has a larger battery than most gaming laptops in this range.

For running the games you listed, it is a great fit. You can achieve around medium-high settings with good FPS. The laptop has an SSD as well as a backlit keyboard. The build quality is decent, it is plastic but rather durable. The laptop has a numpad as well.

What most laptops in this range have as an issue is the cooling system. So many laptops thermal throttle, which is not great for maximizing performance. This laptop does not lose performance to thermals.

$800, USA - Looking for a budget gaming laptop that can't also cook my Thanksgiving turkey.

Posted on: November 20, 2018 by legos45

Hi,

I own the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** myself, so I can give a personal verdict. I would most definitely recommend it.

The laptop has the GTX 1050 Ti graphics card in the configuration, which can handle the games you listed. I haven’t tried some of those games, but I would estimate 60 FPS around medium-high settings.

The laptop is a good fit for general use as well, more than capable for regular use. The laptop has no thermal throttling, so you shouldn’t see any loss in gaming performance.

Have had the same desktop for almost 8 years and need something new for school.

Posted on: November 13, 2018 by legos45

Hi,

As a closer focus on battery life since you’ll be at school, I would recommend the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** which is still more than capable for CAD and gaming. The laptop has a larger battery than most of its competitors in its price range. The components:

* i5-7300HQ 4-core processor

* 8 GB of RAM

* 256 GB SSD storage

* 1080p 15.6″ display

* GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB graphics card

* Weight of 6.6lbs and battery life up to 7 hours

This laptop runs Windows 10 Home.

You can run CAD and games like League of Legends on high-maximum settings, since they aren’t too demanding. Sadly, this laptop doesn’t have touchscreen. But otherwise, it appears to be a good fit.

For battery life, you can easily achieve 7 hours if you disable the dGPU and switch to iGPU when you’re doing school related work.

Let me know if you have any questions about this model!

I don't know much about computers, but I'm tired of the one I have. (~$1000 and USA)

Posted on: November 12, 2018 by legos45

Hi,

Staying below budget, I would recommend the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** which I own myself because of the good battery life, strong components, and good build quality. It has a more premium feel than other laptops in its range. It has:

* i5-7300HQ 4-core processor

* 8 GB of RAM

* 256 GB SSD storage

* 1080p 15.6″ display

* GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB graphics card

* Weight of 6.6lbs and battery life up to 7 hours

This laptop runs Windows 10 Home.

The laptop is a bit heavy for a 15.6″ device, but the cooling system is excellent. Most laptops in this range throttle like crazy, this laptop avoids it as a whole. The screen might not be as large as your old laptop, but I’d consider 15.6″ pretty normal for a gaming laptop. For the games you listed, you can reach high settings with good framerate and medium-high settings for more demanding games.

Although it is a plastic build, the flex is extremely minimal which means that the material is still very durable. Even after having this laptop ~9 months, it has yet to show major wear.

College/gaming laptop for my girlfriend

Posted on: November 8, 2018 by legos45

Hi,

I would personally recommend spending a bit more money in order to get a laptop with better cooling performance. But, if the budget can’t be changed, then the best option would have to be the **Acer Nitro 5**, which has:

* i5-7300HQ 4-core processor

* 8 GB of RAM

* 256 GB SSD storage

* 1080p 15.6″ display

* GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB graphics card

* Weight of 5.5lbs and battery life up to 8.5 hours

This laptop runs Windows 10 Home.

For recent games, you should be able to reach 60 FPS on medium settings. Some lighter titles can hit high settings with 60 FPS.

The laptop is a tad heavy for school, but I would consider it manageable.

Sadly, this laptop does have a strong gamer design, but it is one of the only options in your budget that has the components needed for those games.

My other recommend above budget would be the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567** which I own myself. A much improved cooling system and less of a gamer design.

Cheapest gaming laptop with good specifications for the price?

Posted on: November 6, 2018 by legos45

Hi,

As already mentioned, I would definitely go for the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**, solely because it has a much better cooling system than the Nitro 5. The laptop is one of the rare laptops in this range that doesn’t suffer from overheating. I own this laptop and I’ve had a great experience. The laptop’s GTX 1050 Ti graphics card will be able to run the games you listed easily. This laptop runs Windows 10 Home. I wouldn’t recommend going below the Inspiron 7567 for gaming, performance increase a lot in this range because of upgraded graphics cards.

* 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM, 256GB Solid State Drive

Posted on: August 23, 2018 by starchaserro

Hi,

Based on your requirements I have made this **noteb search** went for laptops with quad-core CPU, dedicated graphics, SSD and over 5H battery life.

You can see and change the search parameters using the “Refine results” button in the upper-left part of the search results page. You can also click on the laptops for more information.

A good option for you could be this one: **Dell Inspiron 15 7567 Gaming (US)** quad-core CPU, gaming GPU (can play Darksouls, Skyrim, and Battlefield), SSD and space for a HDD, almost 6H battery life and great build quality – you can find it on **amazon** for 738$.

A gaming-capable laptop around $800-$1000 that doesn't look like it.

Posted on: May 26, 2018 by elvinelmo

You can also check out the **Dell Inspiron 15 7567**

* 15″ IPS FHD Display
* Core i5-7300HQ
* 256GB SSD,
* 8GB RAM,
* GTX 1050Ti
* Weight 7 lbs

While this is a powerful gaming laptop for the price with a nice display and power GPU its weight is something that might be off putting
