Lenovo Y740 15" w/ RTX Thoughts?

There hasn’t been much feedback for that laptop yet… I think it would be worth it to bump up to a laptop with an RTX 2070 Max-Q graphics card. The **Eluktronics Mech-15 G2R Pro** is already known to have excellent thermals with a GTX 1060 graphics card, so it is super likely that an RTX card would still run fine. Their RTX 2070 Max-Q model is more expensive, this chassis is more durable and has better cooling. Potentially, the Y740 could be a good option, but no guarentees until more reviews and benchmarks are released.

If ~4 hours of battery life is okay for light use, I recommend the new **Eluktronics Mech-15 G2R**, it has the new RTX 2070 Max-Q graphics card. That is the best performing GPU in your price range, which will be great for the programs you have listed. Additionally, it has a strong processor that does not suffer from thermal throttling.

The weight is around 4.5lbs. There is also the **17″ configuration** if you want the regular RTX 2070, it is around the same price as well.

Those programs will benefit from the strong processor and GPU, and you have room for more demanding programs in the future. The build quality is solid on this device with the aluminum chassis.

Let me know if you have any questions.
